PPR Career, Inc. is in search of a Systems Administrator for an exciting permanent position with a growing company in Augusta, GA.
Summary of Responsibilities: The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining system availability, efficient operation of infrastructure, managing production processes and overseeing customer support.
Duties:
Manage all system servers
Manage OS and application updates
Reviews security, performance and system log files
Maintains adequate disk space
Manages backup and disaster recovery plans
Develops requirements for new hardware and applications
Oversees LAN/WAN related issues including
Troubleshooting network conductivity issues
Identify trends and report to supervisor
Knowledge of HP switch configuration and management
Knowledge of firewalls
Develops requirements for new hardware
Server setup, configuration and operations including
Plans upgrades and installation of new equipment
Manages MS-Active Directory
Configures MS Hyper-V
Oversees Windows Security
Manages MS Exchange Server
Sets guidelines and standards for system security and network access
Maintains solid customer/client relationships by assuring proper handling of questions, issues, and concerns.
Assist with the creation of system and network related SOP’s
Exhibit an assertive attitude in recognizing problems, suggesting solutions and overall system improvements
Required Education:
BA degree and at least 2 years’ experience Information Technology or AD and at least 3 years’ experience Information Technology or High School diploma and at least 10 years’ experience in Information Technology.
Required Experience:
At least 2 years’ experience with networking and/or Microsoft Operating Systems and System support.
Other Requirements:
Thorough understanding of Windows Operating System
Ability to analyze complicated systems
Excellent computer software knowledge and skills
Knowledge of SonicWall firewall
Preferred Strengths:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work multiple tasks and projects
Strong judgment, self-motivated
Flexibility – willingness to help in other areas as needed
Dependability – arrive at work on time, work overtime when necessary to fulfill requirements of position, and complete work as directed
Attitude – be a team player with a willingness to cooperate and grow in experience
Assertiveness – recognize problems, suggesting solutions and overall improvement of the network infrastructure
Working Environment:
This position requires working under high levels of stress at times. It requires continuous interaction with co-workers and clients. Some duties may require work after normal business hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
