Primary Function:
Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain highly complex new and existing software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. Will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Convert business and system requirements into detailed system design and technical specifications according to department guidelines.
• Create work effort estimates and may provide input to project schedule work breakdowns.
• Convert system designs and technical specifications into program code.
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing program code and correct errors as required.
• Run quality assurance tests to find errors and confirm that those programs meet business requirements, system designs, and technical specifications.
• Create and maintain user, technical and operational documentation that describes program code, logic, changes and corrections.
• Provide technical support to end users and other support groups as established by service level agreements.
• Provide performance and production run monitoring for applications assigned after implementation.
• Interface with Business Analysts, Testers, Implementations, Clients and users if necessary to develop business reports and applications.
• May function as a team leader for specific projects or other assignments as necessary.
• May analyze business requirements and develop system requirement specifications.
• May develop various implementation plans, e.g., quality assurance, training, documentation, transition, release, software build, as required by the established software development methodology.
• May install software releases as established by software build and release plans.
• May, as needed, work after hours to provide support.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding client and Company information and ensure proper destruction of confidential documents.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, Masters preferred, in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years professional development experience required; web development experience preferred.
• Experience developing software applications on at least one of the following platforms: J2EE, ASP.net.
• Demonstrated mastery of at least one of the following areas: Database Design and Transact SQL, Web User Interface Design, XML Web Services, business process and workflow automation.
• Proficiency in designing and developing highly complex IT systems and assessing and evaluating alternative solutions required.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to translate business requirements into application solutions required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex technical issues to all stakeholders, including those who do not have a technical background required.
• Employee must display a helpful demeanor, detail orientation and teamwork behavior while working in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment.
Essential Job Functions
• Ability to type at a computer terminal and view input is required.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time is required.
• Ability to provide rapid response and handle periodic heavy workloads
