Writing both the technical narrative and cost narratives for contract proposals for US Government statements of work in a competitive environment under deadline constraints. Writing a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for the conduct of company policies and procedures. Planning and accomplishing goals in the performance of a variety of tasks. Working under general supervision, with a certain degree of creativity and latitude is equired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proven understanding of computer equipment and systems combined with excellent language skills is critical. Must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, most notably, Word, Word Perfect, Excel, PowerPoint, and all desktop publishing applications that support MS Office suite. Duties require a high proficiency in English composition and creative writing.
Must be able to simplify terms and explain procedures in a way that is user-friendly and capable of being comprehended by a general audience. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are crucial.
Being genuinely outgoing is important as the technical writer will interview many people as part of gathering information about the subject or proposal being written, or seeking clarification on US Government statements of work, or general administrative documentation to obtain needed background to add to the final documentation. Capable of performing the physical computer-design of the proposal, capable of understanding both conceptual plans and costing data information, and representing both in presentation as part of a final proposal submittal through writing and/or editing content.
Other duties may include:
Performing Technical Writer functions in typing administrative products outside of program proposals on behalf of the company.
Performing a variety of office/clerical tasks that can assist in administrative tasks that bolsters the effectiveness and productivity of the CPI workforce.
Scheduling flexibility to periodically work weekends in order to meet a specific proposal deadline, when needed
