3-month Contract to hire!
You, as the SR. Database Administrator will be charged with and accountable for the successful operation of the enterprise database services at all times. Provides technical expertise, direction and mentoring in developing, administration and supporting system-level programs, interfacing with customers on requirements. Constructs, administers, monitors and maintains the database processing backend, ensuring the accuracy, availability nd integrity of data modeling, standards and data and content in the data warehouse and web systems and architecture.

Strong T-SQL Skills (DML, DDL and DCL)
A Bachelors degree (or above) and 5-6 years of database administration experience.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server database systems.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to program on the Win 32 platform.
Understanding of Windows NT server platform.

Background: Candidates for this position need to have a mixed background in SQL Server that includes some development and some production/administrative responsibilities. A big part of the work here centers around using a job scheduling product, UC4, to get data from mainframe systems into SQL Server databases. They also need to have experience using DTS, which is a data transfer (ETL) tool that is bundled with SQL Server. They need to be comfortable with a 7x24 environment and being ?on call? periodically. The typical DBA skills like heavy T-SQL, performance tuning and backups/restores should be a mandatory requirement.
